“Sometimes you want something so bad and you can’t seem to get it, you know what? Its not meant to be, there’s something better down the road. And you just have to wait and take your time. As you get older you’ll realize that more.”- Theresa

“It was hard getting through it. If it wasn’t for my family I don’t know how I would have gotten through it. And you know what, it was hard for me to finally realize hey, they’re all gone, you’re here, you’ve gotta go on…You don’t dwell on things. I think a lot of young people, they dwell on things when something happens. You have to let it go and go on. That’s what I think. It took me a long time to let it go and go on but I did. You don’t have a choice” Theresa, on losing her parents and siblings

“I was very lonely and nobody to help me. So I just depend on God. I prayed. Later time, I interpreted that as spiritual weaning. That’s my definition. At the time I didn’t think about that but later, oh, it was spiritual weaning. Physically I departed from my mother at an early age, I understood that I had no parents to help me. So I depend on God.”David

“I have a theme for life. ‘God surprises us.’ I have an ogla-ism for it. Do you want to know what it is? ‘You ‘aint see nothin’ yet.'”– Olga

“That was God. God comforts us and takes us through it. Like when our daughter died, our daughter died at 2 o’clock in the morning, at 5 o’clock in the morning we were both down at the barn milking cows. That’s God. God helps, God comforts. Its the only answer that I can give. Its the only answer that there is.”– Robert

“Too live a good life is how much you help others. If you’re willing to help other people when they need help. Not necessarily giving them money but giving them whatever they need. Helping poor people get along in life. I think if you’ve done these things you’ve had a successful life. It’s more important than what you’ve collected, it’s what you give away.”- Robert

“No matter where I was, I think people knew what kind of a person I was, so they never really swore or said bad jokes or anything in font of me. I was 18 and kind of naive, but I was taught to behave properly and do the right thing, so I think they knew what kind of a person I was, so that’s how they treated me.”-Anne
